What is MEMGen?

2 min

MEMGen turns a handful of photos into a MEM: the strongest moments, in the order they are best seen, a line on each, music that fits, and a version made for every person who appears in it. You drop up to ten photos, say one line about them, pick a theme, and it plays. No account to start.

What you do here

Create. A drop of photos becomes a MEM to share, or a private journal page for a day. Each drop also grows one archive that is yours, a drop at a time.

Home. Everything that happens with your MEMs, newest first: the ones you made, the ones suggested from your archive, the ones people shared with you, and what came back on the ones you sent.

Share. Every person the generator finds in your photos gets their own version and their own link. Whoever opens it needs no account: they watch, react, leave a note, and can add their own photos.

You. Your archive, every MEM made from it, a journal with one page per day, the people you have named, and your account when you want to save your progress.

What makes it different

The same MEM plays differently for each person in it: the photos they are in come first, framed on them, with an opening written for them. That viewer-conditioned rendering is patent pending. The more you add, the more the generator learns about who matters in your photos and the more it makes for you, without you tagging anything.

A MEM is also a file. The chapters that follow describe the .mem format: what is inside, why the values travel and the methods do not, and how a developer can read, verify or build one.
