Terms of Use

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of MEM Generator (“MEMGen,” the “Service”) at memgen.memoresse.com — the web app that takes a drop of your photos, makes a MEM from them, and lets you share it. The Service is operated by Memoresse LLC (“Memoresse,” “we,” “us”), a subsidiary of Memorythium Corporation. Memoresse® is a trademark of Memoresse LLC. Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

1. What this is

MEMGen is a prototype. You drop photos; the Service reads them, picks the strongest moments, puts them in order with music, makes a version for each person in them, and gives you links to share. You can also keep a private journal: one page per day, in your words. It is a cloud web app and is not the Memories Lockbox; it does not carry the Lockbox’s on-device storage guarantees (see Section 4). The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” and features may change, be added, or be withdrawn.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to use the Service. By continuing, you confirm you are at least 18. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

3. Your content, and the permission you give us to run the Service

You own your content. The photos and the words you add remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.

To make the Service work, you grant Memoresse a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you: to read your photos and suggest what they show, to assemble your MEM, to make its music, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with. This license exists only to deliver the Service to you and ends when you stop using the Service or delete your content, except for copies that people you shared with may still hold.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that doing so does not violate anyone else’s rights. Photos often contain other people; you are responsible for the content you bring in.

We do not sell your content, we do not use it to train outside models, and we do not share an understanding of one person with another without a deliberate, mutual opt-in. The Service never names a person on its own; naming is always your step.

4. How MEMGen differs from the Lockbox

The Memories Lockbox is built around storing your memories on a device you own. MEMGen is different by necessity: to read and assemble your MEM in the browser, your content is sent to and processed on our servers and by service providers acting on our behalf (listed in the Privacy Policy). We keep that footprint minimal, and those providers are limited to providing their service to us. MEMGen is not an on-device, end-to-end-encrypted environment. Do not treat it as long-term storage; keep your own copies of anything you care about.

5. Sharing

If you share a MEM, the people you share with can open it through a link without an account, and may react, leave a line, save the link, claim their version, or add their own photos. Anyone who contributes keeps ownership of what they contribute, and you decide whether what they add goes in. Only share what you have the right to share. You can turn a link off at any time.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to upload unlawful content or content you do not have rights to; to harass, harm, or violate the privacy of others; to access systems, data, or accounts that are not yours; to scrape, probe, reverse-engineer, or copy the Service’s methods or any non-public part of it; or to interfere with its operation. We may suspend or remove access if you do.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, its design, and the methods that read, score, order, and render your content are owned by Memoresse LLC and protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms give you no rights in them beyond using the Service as intended. The open .mem format carries your content and its values; it carries none of the methods, and export from this app is still being built (see Developers).

8. No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any MEM, page, or upload will be preserved. Keep your own copies.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Memoresse will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost memories arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes and ending access

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we will ask you to review them before they apply to you. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your content (see the Privacy Policy).

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law. The specific governing law, venue, and dispute-resolution procedures will be set out in an updated version of these Terms; nothing here waives protections you are entitled to under the mandatory laws of your place of residence.
